Ouch. Got a flat tire on the Mustang. I was at my first-ever pool lesson with BCA Certified Instructor Rod Gustafson, parked in the driveway, had my lesson, pulled out of the driveway and two houses down, had a flat. So I put on the spare and drove straight to Lamb’s Tire and Auto.
In fact, I’m there now. I’m on my laptop writing this blog with Verizon Wireless EVDO access, logged in and typing away. Turns out, of course, that two of my tires have > 30K miles on them already and the other two have > 20K. I’m going to buy two new ones (always purchase tires in 2′s) now and I’ll wait another 10K miles on the other two. They’re running a special, too — free oil change with purchase of 2 or 4 tires, and I’m about 100 miles out of needing the oil change.
I love going to Lamb’s. Well, let me rephrase that. If I’m going to Lamb’s, typically that will mean that I’m going to have to spend some money, so that’s not my point. My point is, I trust Lamb’s. I’ve been going to either the Far West location or the Lake Creek location for 5 years now. I know they’re not going to tell me something I need that I don’t really need. I typically deal with someone I’ve dealt with before and beyond just courteous and kind, they actually try to save me money.
Like this time — the guy didn’t have to mention the special they’re running today. I agreed to get the two tires, and I said “while you’re at it, I think I’m due for an oil change, so go ahead and do that too” and then he offered “well, we’re running a special so that’ll be free for you today.”
So in case you can’t tell, I recommend Lamb’s. They also have a location in Cedar Park (haven’t been) and a new one on 620 near 2222 (haven’t been).
