Today we had a visit from Ann Elliott, owner/operator of Dirty Paws Mobile Pet Grooming to get the dogs groomed. We had a great experience.
We’ve taken Nitro (15yr old Toy American Eskimo) and Jupiter (2yr old unknown, probably Belgian Shepherd-type) to PetSmart in the past, and they’ve done a decent job, but there’s something special about using someone who loves what they do enough to come to you and do it, not to mention the convenience of having the work done at home.
The price was more than reasonable for both dogs, and she gave a bath, did grooming, whatever trimming we wanted, brushing, toenail clipping, and brushed down the pads. The dogs loved the extra care and attention (even Nitro, who typically would choose to attack visitors to our property and would prefer to not let anyone leave with the ability to walk or sit down), and look absolutely great.

And Nitro – well, he’s so old just about anything wears him out, so he’s resting. Ann even put on a little green bandana as a gift.

She shows up with her truck with a mobile grooming trailer and just needs to hook up power and outside water faucet. She has a tub, trimmers, pump, and everything someone would need for great pet grooming.

I unfortunately do not have a good review for Ann Elliott of Dirty Paws Mobile Grooming. She does not respond to e-mails, so you’ll wait weeks to get your dog groomed. The 2nd time she groomed my dog, we noticed after she left that she had a cut on her stomach from grooming. I e-mailed her, was going to give her a 3rd chance at grooming, thinking maybe my dog moved while she was cutting, so maybe it wasn’t Ann’s fault, but to this day, almost a year later, she’s never bothered to reply. She obviously does not care so I will never use her again and I will not recommend her.

Sorry to hear of your experience — we’ve since used Ann at least 3 other times and have been quite satisfied. We even did a service at a friend’s house so we could pool together all our dogs (four in total at that time) and we were all happy.
I’ll agree with the lateness of email reply, but since my wife is the same way with her business, I guess I have a soft spot in my heart for people who care less about technology than most everyone else. I found using the traditional method of calling her was the best way to get ahold of her.
I’ll assume that your choice to use her a second time was a good sign for the first appointment.
If you have alternatives that you can recommend, that’d be a good thing to post as well.
