Hi, This is Wayne. This is my site, my stuff, my blog, blahblahblah. The site itself is powered by WordPress and the Scary Little theme. I thought it was cool, and I still do.

Just the other day, I saw a guy in three different areas of town, at three different times.  At least, I think it was the same guy.  I actually looked more intently than I otherwise would because the guy looked a lot like Jason Momoa.  For those of you who don’t know who he is, or don’t watch Stargate Atlantis, he looks kind of like this:

Jason Momoa   Jason Momoa

It’s not like he’s garden variety human and blends in with everyone else.

Anyway, I saw this look-a-like at my credit union during lunch – he was the guy in front of me inside at the teller.  White loose-hanging shirt, some beads around the neck, and basically standing there looking like Jason Momoa.   He left, and I went on with my day.

Later in the day, I swear I saw the EXACT same guy coming out of Best Buy.  I was on my way to pick up my 13yr old Caitlin after work from her volunteering with PawMatch (she’s filling up what’s left with summer with some great help to homeless pets) and I noticed him again, with the same shirt, same beads and basically walking out of Best Buy looking like Jason Momoa.  I also notice his sandals, which were Jesus-style.  I thought – that’s weird, I see the same guy twice in a day.

I get home, we figure out dinner and I go out to get a few necessary items (I think they were of the highest priority – chocolate and apple pie).  So I’m inside my local 7-11, admiring the Buzz Cola and Simpson’s donuts, and who do I see outside filling up his car?  Yep, Jason Momoa.  I check and the white shirt and beads are still there.  Oh, and the sandals too.  I tell the clerk there “you know what – I’ve seen that random stranger three times today in three different places” and he says “oh that happens all the time to me, too.”

This post is now named “Weird Coincidences, #1″ because I have others to post so I might as well make a series.

And lo, the people did comment thus:

Next time you are in 7-11, snag me a box of Krusty-O’s. Our 7-11 is way to cheap to ever go all out Simpsons. :-)

  2. michelle says:

Well, he’s either from Jamaica was outrunning Dean, or you are hallucinating. That’s never happened to me except at the mall, where you would expect it to happen.

Do homeless pets sit on street corners with a sign asking for change? :-)

PS: my gravatar still isn’t showing.. .Ugh.

    Nevermind. it’s showing now.

Hold on, I have to go drool now. Mmmmm, Momoa!

Nick, can I call you Nick? Ok good. I promise that if I see a box or two of Krusty-O’s I’ll ship up a box.
Michelle, I think he’s a mix of Hawaiian and Caucasian, according to Wiki. Ooh, and I see he was on Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding. Ok, I need to stop describing male hunks otherwise people might this is some other kind of blog.
Hilly, Seems he was Hawaii Model of the Year in 1999. I think he’s a great actor and I don’t just look at superficial things. Oooh, and I see Lisa Bonet gave birth to his first child! She’s HOT!

Hey whall, just wondering, what city did you think you saw him in? Just curious ;)

  7. whall says:

Lahela, this would be Austin, TX. I should point out that I’m certain it was NOT Jason Momoa, just someone who reminded me of him. Believe me, if I thought Jason Momoa was AT MY CREDIT UNION IN FRONT OF ME, I would say “hi” and tell him how much I appreciated his addition to Stargate Atlantis as Ronon.

I used to volunteer at a pet shelter so I’d be interested in hearing some of Caitlin’s stories about working with PawMatch. Get her to tell you a few & then post ‘em .

sourpuss, that’s a great idea. It could be like Heard In A Cab, but it would be Heard In A Pen. Right now, most of the conversations are us asking her how the adoptions went, who the current “best picks” are (typical response: “all of them, dad!”) and how frequently everyone assumes she’s 16 or 17 instead of just turned 13.

Oh, and SCIFI channel just posted a quick 4 minute video of Jason Momoa answering fan forum questions – you can get to know him a little better. It’s pretty good.
