This last week was a doozy, with more changes to the family health (but all is on the bounce-back now, finally), unexpected changes to travel, and a ton of other stuff. It’s the stuff that makes you better, right? That which does not kill you makes you stronger, right?
Cereal Mixin’s
I’m someone who likes to mix their cereals – I rarely eat JUST Corn Flakes or JUST Grape Nuts. Rice Chex + Grape Nuts + Corn Flakes is one of my favorites. Pretty much, I’ll combine any 2 or 3 of the following when I eat cereal:
- Grape Nuts / Grape Nuts Flakes
- Corn Flakes
- Rice Chex
- Cheerios
- Total
- Rice Krispies
I can’t mix in the sugary stuff – if I eat sugared cereals, I’ll eat those alone, but indulging in that kind of breakfast is rare for me. Maybe Cereal Wednesday will have an episode of Cereal Mixin’ someday.
Texture in food is big for me – for example, I like potato chips in my mac-n-cheese just to make it crunchier. I like hash browns in my breakfast tacos for the same reason.
Maybe I’m getting better nutrition this way, by combining wheat, corn, rice or whatever the cereal base is.
Have you ever tried mixing cereals?
Someone sent me Pepsistuff codes!
I can’t tell who it is from the email address, but someone sent me a batch of codes that I plan on entering in as soon as the site goes live. Thanx, you-know-who-you-are!
As a reminder, you can send me YOUR unused PepsiStuff codes.
Having a bad day – LOLcats style
Someone sent me a “Having a Bad Day” email that had a lot of LOLcat-worthy photos but sans caption, gathered in such a way as to determine if you’ve had a bad day. I liked it so I decided to share.
Because I’m so thoughtful, I decided to share in the extended entry, below, so those of you who gag at the sight of cute cat/dog photos won’t sue me or send me your doctor bills.
1) You woke up in a strange place.

2) You had trouble getting out of bed.

3) You washed your hair and couldn’t do a thing with it.

4) You feel like you have a hangover and you weren’t even drinking last night.

5) Your new diet doesn’t seem to be working.

6) You pulled a muscle when you tried to exercise.

7) Your new hat looked better on you at the store.

Your old hat doesn’t seem quite right either.

9) The dry cleaners shrunk your favorite outfit.

10) You keep losing things.

11) You have a stiff neck.

12) You feel like you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time.

13) The boss chewed you out at work.

14) You got caught in the rain at lunchtime.

15) The lunch you had didn’t seem to agree with you.

16) You feel trapped.

17) Traffic on the way home was brutal.

18) Uninvited guests showed up at dinnertime.

19) You think you’re coming down with the flu.

20) You’re alone in the house at night and you hear a noise in the basement.

I sometimes do the Cereal Mixin’ (Mixcereal? Ceremixal?) thing, but not as often as you, it sounds like.
I mix GOOD cereals, not that crap you’re eating.
Life with Cinnamon Toast Crunch with Frosted Flakes, etc.

I really want one of these to open near me…

I think you are wearing me down on the cats. Your captions are cute. I love the cat who adopted the skunks to feed them.
“Texture in food is big for me”: I recommend roaches.
Ren, it used to be a once-in-a-while thing but for last few months it happens every time. And since I’ve been working from home for 3 weeks, there’s a lot more opportunity for eating cereal.
Avi, I think that all the sugars and artificial colors and sweeteners might meld together and combust. And they probably wait _just_ the right amount of time to make it embarrasing for the consumer.
P0ppy, I couldn’t've typed it better myself.
niqdanger, I’ll have to check it out – I’m on blackberry now and I don’t have an ‘open in new window’ feature
Abs, I think the roaches, however protein-rich they may be, would probably wear me down and I’d be posing for HURLcats.
