It's AJAX. And there's a Google phone web-app for the iPhone. You can also download them to read offline, too.

Christine, I promise not to let it go to my head. I'm very glad your gravatar is working - it shows a spunky, fiery side that's probably all-too-true :)

Dave2, I love it when people do it "right" - like them noticing that you're browsing with Safari and customize the interface for you.

Avi, is the Google reader web-based, or does it have a client that runs on the phone? The client-based model is important for me for GUI speed. This is one reason I dropped bloglines. Berry apps like Beyond411, Mobio and NewsGator Go! are great examples of client-based apps.

Google Reader is something I can do online and on my phone and it syncs, too. I'm pretty happy with it.

The Mac alternative for using the syncing features of Newsgator is called "NetNewsWire" and is about the best reader you can get. And, for iPhone users, Newsgator has a lovely interface specifically for mobile Safari that initiates automatically when you visit their site using iPhone or iPod Touch. A great, great service.
