I am not a big fan of the liberal thought process or Obama, but we need to give him a chance. This country needs a leader we can all stand behind.

Until I see verified proof that you will end up with less money under Obama, then I really don't see an issue of how much of your money you got to keep over the last 8 years vs. how much of your money you get to keep over the next 4-8 years.

As we have has previous discussions about donating time/money/resources and I mostly have no argument.

Now where you can send your money you promised to donate to a struggling liberal.... the address is ... ;-)

Ok... so maybe you really are a Republican afterall.

I agree with pretty much all of your points because they are the basis of fiscal conservation, of which I am for. The only thing I want to point out is that I don't have a problem with job creation and there are things that people need professional help... such as social workers helping to navigate the bureaucratic mess of social programs.

Whall, I applaud you. Both for the fact that you take charity into your heart, and make it a reality, and for the fact that you responded to ajooja with tact and patience. My family and I also give to the homeless, although not on such a personal level. We give to charities, my kids choose which of their toys they want to give to underpriviledged children, and we vote for organizations who want to set up cold brick buildings where people can learn job skills, get daycare, and buy food at lower prices. That has always been the difference to me between Liberals and Conservatives. Liberals want to hand out fish, Conservatives want to teach fishing.

Maybe we could get together and write up an actual plan for what we'd like to see in the government, instead of simply blogging about it. I like that you're a man of action. This country, this world, needs more people like you.

Ajoola said "an overwhelming majority of Americans stood up and said, “We’re not going to take it anymore!”
Only slightly more Americans voted for Obama over McCain. And this group of Obama voters was definitely a minority of eligible American voters. So an underwhelming minority stood up and said this. The rest said something else, or didn't bother to stand at all.

Ajooja -- Thank you for commenting. I would expect that as you typed your response you might have thought "what's the point? he's a Republican!" and I appreciate you still doing it anyway if that were the case.

Actually, no I would not prefer anyone take your money and give it to fatcats. In fact, I think I pointed that out in my utter.

Don't mistake my view on this - I do NOT in any way support or tolerate corporate executives fleecing our country. I want to ferret out corruption and greed anywhere I can. In fact, I think it's greedy for someone to look at the hypothetical homeless person and instead of giving of their own time and money, demand that others pay. They are buying "good humanitarian feelings" and paying for it with someone else's wallet. That's greed right there, if you ask me.

You write "I'd rather have some poor person..." as if there's a choice of one or the other. Each case needs it's own decision and it's own review.

Funding [any] War is a different subject altogether, and to tie in the need to defend one's country with social programs is talking apples and oranges. Those conversations should be kept separate, and to bring up unrelated controversial topics when in a conversation about a controversial topics is just a redirection tactic (however unintended it may be).

I suspect (correct me if I'm wrong) that you are taking your current view (and inherent disdain) of Republicans, dragging up all the bad things you hate about them, and assigning them to me, presumably due to the title I chose for shock value.

Please don't do that.

I suggest we take each issue as an independent issue and discuss that issue. Sidetracking the conversation with other partisan topics doesn't help the discussion. Assuming what my stance is on those other unrelated topics also does nothing but spread more hate and misunderstanding.

So, corporate welfare and useless war aside, do you disagree with anything I actually said? Or are you on a partisan rampage?
