Welcome to The blog of whall

Come on in and stay a while… laugh a little. Maybe even think. Read more...

Hi, This is Wayne. This is my site, my stuff, my blog, blahblahblah. The site itself is powered by WordPress and the Scary Little theme. I thought it was cool, and I still do.

Ah, Monty Python.

Anyway.

This weekend, I’m going off to the Texas Astrology Retreat in nowhere, TX.  In fact, I scheduled this post to publish while I’m on the road to nowhere.

If you follow me on Google Latitude you can watch me wherever I go! (you need to know my gmail address though).

I get to sit out, camp out, dine well and partake of immense expertise in the field of Astrology with my wife.

We went last year and had a great time.  I was declared to be the designated “fire pit guy” based on my activities last year as well as my penchant for fire pits.  You may or may not recall that I not only have many impressive skills such as Chief Sarcastic Officer, Class Clown, Alpha Geek, Annoying Positive Guy, Little Punny PhooPhoo and Crazy LOLcat Republican, I’m also a certified astrologer.   Now, don’t get all excited or ask me for a reading or anything… I’ve done a few blog posts on Astrology here and there, but my wife is the REAL astrologer.  I only got certified to help her out.

The featured presenter is Chris Brennan, who maintains a consulting practice at www.astrologicalconsultingservices.com, writes an astrology blog at www.horoscopicastrologyblog.com and is heading up a cooperative translation project for Hellenistic astrological texts at www.hellenisticastrology.com. The guy knows his stuff – we listened to him last night at our Astrological Society of Austin (ASA) monthly meeting where he gave a short presentation of the History of Western Astrology.

The special appearance by Maria Mateus is also something we’re looking forward to.  She’s a fellow board member of the ASA and always has new knowledge for us.  She’s wonderful to listen to, so if you ever get the chance, take it.

The retreat takes place way out in nowhere and is a fantastic place to unwind.

Just look at our schedule:

Friday: 2/27

6:00 – 7:00 Arrival and Welcome Dinner
7:30 – 9:00 The History and Philosophy of Ancient Astrology

Trust me.  ANYTHING with the name “Time Lords” *HAS* to be fun.

This reminds me, I’m still waiting for my astrological prize. Did you forget about me again?

    • whall says:

sourpuss – I actually did not forget. I have you on a list of “blog commitments” and your turn is coming up soon. I owe about 5-6 bloggers something. But I’m glad you came by anyway, even though you’re on a blog break.

  4. Giggle Pixie says:

Oh my gosh, I miss going on retreats! I had forgotten how much, until I read your post. Used to work at a place where we had yearly retreats and they were fabulous. *sigh* Hope you have a good time!

Giggle Pixie – I’m actually thinking of starting a technology retreat – a weekend of technological presentations but combined with a relaxing, refreshing place…

Late Babylonian Fireside Stargazing ??? Damn! I wanna go!!!

metalmom´s last blog post..Just Doin’ My Job

    • whall says:

metalmom – it was REALLY cool. The right kind of high-powered laser pointer (green is the best) is quite cool to point up into the night sky at the stars, and everyone can actually see exactly what constellation or star the presenter is talking about because it just goes on and on and on.

Bossy loves how every day begins with Breakfast. They’re thoughtful like that.

BOSSY´s last blog post..Yet Another Little Known Fact.

Bossy – I thought of you and your comment here on this morning’s video taping for my next DITL, probably coming soon to a whall.org near you, possibly as early as this week.

      I’m thoughtful like that.

  7. Dragon says:

I hope you had a great time, my friend. :)

    Dragon´s last blog post..Chocolate Valentino

Hey, we all want to share our voice. And I particularly love comments, especially if you took the time to read my blog entry. I'll take the time to read your comment, I swear! But due to spammers, robots, and the fact that I want my blog to be PG rated, I need to approve the comments. This should be same day, but please don't get mad if it takes me a while to approve the comment.
