As if I needed another reason to love this song any more

This guy is great!  Makes me wanna learn sign language.  At least now I know what “Hey” is in ISN.  I’m no dancer, but I sure do move to this song.

PS: Yes, I really do like the song; no sarcasm here, like you might see on other people’s blogs.

PS#2: I didn’t mean the first PS to point at specific people, nor am I sour about it.  Not a bit.

PS#3: I’ll let you decide if I’m using sarcasm in #2.

And lo, the people did comment thus:

One of my fave ASL “singers” is Michael DeMartino. He does great translation and has a lot of fun doing it. (You might find him under captainl0ver on you tube, if you can’t find him under his name.)

I admit to the song being pretty catchy. Howard Stern is a big Miley Cyrus fan and plays this song often (along with other Miley Cyrus songs).

That guy does a great job.

I once went to a book reading by the incomparable Douglas Adams where he had a signer there. As he was reading along, he came across the character “Slartibartfast” and immediately turned to see what the signer would do with it. Everybody had a good laugh as the name was struggled to be interpreted, but the signer took it in stride… at which point Adams repeated the name until the signer (and the room) was in hysterics. After the reading was over, Adams invited a round of applause for the signer, and she got a standing ovation. I’ve never forgotten that moment, and whenever I see something like this video, I’m reminded as to what an art it is to convey meaning through sign language.

And I like the song too. How could you not? 🙂

I don’t really like this song that much but Jasmine loves it and it’s so much fun to watch this video. I went and favorited it so Jasmine can watch it over and over and make me crazy.
